ABOUT

Kristen Vallow is a set and production designer for for photography, film, commercials, theatre and installation. 

She is known for her evocative surrealism, bold use of shape and color and fine art approach. Kristen combines research with provocation and an eye for beauty, pop imagery and attention to detail. She builds worlds that bridge theatricality and realism. 

Collaborators include David LaChapelle, Floria Sigismondi, Jon Chu, Damian Chazelle, Dayton Faris, Jeremy Scott, Sergei Poulin, Child, Melina Matsoukas, Mathew Cullen, Paola Kudacki, Blake Lively, Mathery, Columbine Goldsmith, Mark Seliger and Ellen von Unwerth. Her work with David LaChapelle can be seen in six art books and in gallery and museum exhibitions around the world. 

Recent projects include work for Bottega Veneta, Moschino, Zendaya, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Saks, MAC cosmetics, Tommy Hilfiger, Chase Bank, New York Times Magazine, Estée Lauder, Amazon, Smartwater, Old Navy. Squarespace, Amex, Walmart and many others. She is a longtime and frequent collaborator with Target. 

Her work has appeared in Italian Vogue, Paris Vogue, Vogue Espana, Vanity Fair, I-D Magazine, Arena, The Face, Selfridges London, Galeries Lafayette Paris, The Hollywood Bowl, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Fotografskia NYC and Sadler’s Wells London. 

Kristen studied Art History at Barnard College, Columbia University and Historic Preservation Architecture at University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Arts and Science. She lives in New York City and Los Angeles.
